MUTANT LINE   116TNE Contact TMGC for ordering information
Synopsis:

Reduced locomotor stimulation in response to cocaine.

Detailed Phenotype Description:

This autosomal recessive mutation (tmgc35), linked to distal Chr 15, was detected in the progeny of C57BL/6JRn males given a single dose of 200 mg/kg ENU. A total of 15, 116 TNE mice were tested and compared to 144 mice of related pedigrees. Testing revealed that mice of this pedigree appeared to be relatively insensitive to the locomotor stimulating effect of cocaine (10 mg/kg), and also showed much reduced sensitization to this drug . The 116 TNE pedigree is -1.96 std. deviations below the mean following the first cocaine injection (LOC_CHCL_ADIST_3) and -1.68 SD below the population mean following the second sensitizing injection (SEN_CHCL_ADIST_4). In both cases all mice of this pedigree showed very little variability in their response to cocaine.
